Keyzapp Kiosk

What is a Keyzapp Kiosk?

What is a Kiosk?

A kiosk is a physical device that allows key controllers to access the Keyzapp software and provide a workflow of signing keys in- and out to streamline key management processes.

The device is provisioned so that its sole purpose is to allow staff to identify themselves using an ID fob, interact with Keyzapp for a finite amount of time, and walk away when finished.

How Does It Work?

We recommend that the Keyzapp kiosk be placed as close to your key cabinet as possible. This provides a location - and therefore a workflow - for all things keys!

Your staff members will walk up to the kiosk and present their ID fob to the in-built NFC reader; this identifies the user and logs them in:

Once their ID fob is scanned, they can interact with Keyzapp on the kiosk, using the inbuilt programmed touchscreen keyboard or a plugged in keyboard. Each time the user navigates to a new page, the kiosk mode timer will reset:

Complete your actions as required. For example, your team can look up the property to understand which hook the keys are on. Go and grab the keys, scan them to sign them out and simply walk away from the kiosk device. After the period of inactivity, the user is automatically logged out:

To return keys, simply run the process the other way! Scan your ID to sign in, scan the keys to return them, check which hook to hang them on, place the keys on the hook and walk away!

FAQs

When would I want to use this?
If you are a business with high-volume key transactions, this functionality might just be for you! We find that these kiosks work best as a workflow when placed as close to the keys as possible. No need to search for keys at a laptop, write the hook number down on paper and then go find them. Simply walk up to the kiosk, search for the property, grab the keys and scan them.

Is the functionality customisable at all?
As with most elements of the Keyzapp software, there are plenty of customisable options that the team can implement to better suit your preferred workflow. Examples include:
- Showing or hiding additional fields
- Changing the on-screen messaging
And more.

Can I use a kiosk for other software / workflows outside of Keyzapp?
We configure and support the devices specifically for use with Keyzapp. This ensures you and the wider team have a dedicated place to interact with the system, and allows us to help troubleshoot any issues you may have.

Can I set parameters around when the kiosk is available to use?
Yes you can. If, for example, you wanted to lock the kiosk out of office hours, that can be configured for you. Similarly, we can amend the automatic logout after a period of inactivity as necessary. Give us a call and we'd be happy to help!

Does it come with desk or wall mounting?
Every device comes with VESA mounting holes, so can work with a variety of brackets and wall mounts. We recommend you purchase one that suits your requirements; please note Keyzapp do not stock or sell these ourselves.

How else could I use a kiosk?
Some clients have a kiosk front-of-house, which allows users to navigate and locate keys to identify if they're available and on the hook. Another key use-case is to have the kiosk alongside a dropbox, allowing contractors and other suppliers to quickly and efficiently return keys to the office.
