How to use advanced search

Advanced Search

Advanced Search lets you perform not only a general search of keyrings, properties and people in Keyzapp, but also carries out searches specific to Keyrings and to Individual Keys.

The Advanced Search page can be loaded by clicking the Advanced Search link under any general search box.

Search All

To search for a particular keyring, property or person:

  1. Type in the keyword/number you are searching for in the search box
  2. Click Search
  3. All results containing that keyword/result will be listed
  4. Click on the result you were looking for to be taken to the associated Keyring / Property / People Details page

Keyrings Search

You can use various filters to adjust the search performed, including by Keyring Status (e.g. signed out, overdue, archived) and Keyring Cabinet.

Individual Keys Search

This search is particularly useful when you have located a loose key and are unsure which keyring/property it belongs to. If you have previously saved information about that key in Keyzapp (e.g. its serial number and a physical description), keyrings containing keys matching that description will be listed. Click on a Keyring ID to be taken to the associated Keyring Details page.

It can be seen from this feature how useful it is to add additional information about individual keys.  Instructions for doing this can be found here.
