Setup your Keyzapp Reader on a Mac
We use a third party app called NFC Ideas to enable smart fob scanning on an Apple Mac.
Download it here, then follow the instructions below to set it up.
To get scanning working
- Visit the App Store and search for the app called "NFC Ideas" (or click here)
- Plug in your reader
- Open the NFC Ideas App and check that a reader is showing in the Reader field (if it isn't, try unplugging the reader and plugging it back in again)
- Go to the NFC Ideas Menu and under Preferences, make sure that under Tag Preferences, you click "Clear records and tag removed" and "Perform Target action"
Note: Scanning will only work whilst the NFC Ideas app is running.
- Open your Settings App
- Select or search for Users & Groups
- Go to Login Items
- Select Applications
- Select NFC Ideas
You should now be able scan smart fobs without first opening NFC Ideas manually.
